Porsche launches PCCM Plus to modernize classic models
Porsche has introduced a new generation of its Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) system, designed to modernize the infotainment capabilities of older models. The upgrade is compatible with over 300,000 vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2016, specifically targeting the 911 (997.2 and 991.1 generations), as well as Boxster and Cayman models (987.2 and 981 generations).
The new system features a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen and provides wireless integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Designed to maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of the original interiors, the unit integrates with existing electronics, allowing navigation and media information to be displayed on the instrument cluster and controlled via multi-function steering wheels.
Additional features include satellite navigation with scenic route planning, over-the-air map updates, and the ability to display vehicle data such as oil temperature and pressure. For Boxster and Cayman models, the system also adds visual parking sensor displays to complement existing acoustic alerts.
