Porsche Motorsport affirms GTP commitment despite restructuring and job cuts

Porsche AG is carrying out a major corporate restructuring that includes a €2.1 billion investment plan and the planned reduction of up to 5,000 jobs by 2035. The company says the changes will not affect its factory‑backed motorsport programmes.

Thomas Laudenbach, CEO of Porsche Motorsport, reiterated that Porsche will remain committed to the GTP class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, fielding two 963 LMDh prototypes operated by Team Penske. The manufacturer also confirmed it will continue to take part in technical meetings and keep its long‑term goal of returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2030, even though it is not competing in the World Endurance Championship this season.
