Porsche reveals details of Mission S hypercar project

Porsche has begun revealing details regarding the Mission S, a new high-performance hypercar project intended to succeed the 918 Spyder. The project, which follows the previous Mission X concept, is expected to be unveiled in its final version in the coming weeks.

Initial teasers suggest the Mission S will feature a mid-engine layout, similar to the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. While official details remain limited, industry speculation points toward a plug-in hybrid powertrain, potentially utilizing a V8 biturbo engine derived from the 963 LDMH racing program. The vehicle is positioned to compete with high-end models such as the Ferrari F80, Aston Martin Valhalla, and McLaren W1.

One report indicates the Mission S may debut as a concept on October 15, 2026, serving as a precursor to a potential production series. Design elements teased include circular headlight groups with the signature four-point lighting and specific aerodynamic components.
