Porsche rules out ANCAP safety ratings for Australian models

Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) has announced that it does not currently plan to submit its vehicle models for independent safety testing through the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Despite the availability of crash test data from Euro NCAP, PCA director for PR and marketing Alexis Truscott stated, “At this stage we don't have any plans for separate ANCAP testing.” While Porsche models such as the Cayenne Electric and Macan Electric have received five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP, ANCAP has not published safety ratings for any Porsche models.

Most mainstream and premium SUVs and sedans typically undergo such testing. While some manufacturers utilize a “partner model” protocol to derive ratings from related vehicles sharing similar structural characteristics—such as models within the Volkswagen Group—Porsche has opted not to pursue local ANCAP submissions at this time.
