Porsche sells Bugatti and Rimac stakes for €1 billion
Porsche AG has finalized the sale of its stakes in Rimac Group and the Bugatti Rimac joint venture to a consortium led by HOF Capital and BlueFive Capital. The transaction, which includes Porsche's 45% stake in Bugatti Rimac and its 21% stake in Rimac Group, is valued at approximately 1 billion euros. Porsche intends to use 250 million euros of the proceeds to fund its pension obligations.
As part of the ownership shift, Mate Rimac will assume the role of President of Bugatti Automobiles, while Marko Brkljačić will become the Chief Operating Officer of Bugatti Rimac. This move allows Porsche to focus on its core automotive business and has led the company to raise its 2026 net cash flow margin forecast to between 5.5% and 7.5%.
Separately, Porsche is moving forward with the development of its next-generation 718 Boxster EV. Despite previous speculation regarding the project's cancellation, recent testing at the Nürburgring confirms that development is ongoing. The electric roadster is expected to launch in 2027 and will utilize a modified version of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, sharing technical resources with Audi to manage development costs.
