Porsche tests new internal combustion Macan prototype at Nürburgring
A prototype for a new internal combustion engine Porsche Macan has been spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring. The test vehicle, referred to as a mule, features distinctive foam blocks used to verify ground clearance during the early development stages.
This upcoming model, internally known as Project Octan, is expected to debut in 2028 to replace the current combustion Macan. The prototype is built upon the Audi Q5 platform, which shares technical architecture with the Volkswagen Group, though the final production model will feature a unique body and a wider track.
