Porsche unveils one-off 911 Turbo S ‘Land Down Under’ for Australia

Porsche’s Sonderwunsch (Special Wishes) division, together with Sydney‑based artist Werner Bronkhorst, built a unique one‑off 911 Turbo S called “Land Down Under” to celebrate 75 years of Porsche’s presence in Australia. The car is based on the 992.2 generation hybrid 911 Turbo S and was developed by Porsche Cars Australia, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch.

The exterior features a hand‑applied Chromaflair gradient paint that shifts from Terra Australis Red at the lower body to Southern Cross Blue on the upper sections. More than 300 hours of work and seven layers of lacquer produce a colour change that mirrors the Australian outback’s desert, sky and foliage. Hidden throughout are tiny illustrations of Australian wildlife and a secret message – “See ya later, mate” – that appears under the active rear spoiler when it deploys at speeds above 80 km/h or in Sport Plus mode.

Inside, the cabin is finished in Dark Night Blue leather with Coolibah Brown upholstery and Silky Oak wood trim. The sports seats contain 14,417 individually punched perforations that mimic brushstrokes, and the headliner is embroidered with the Southern Hemisphere night sky over Uluru as it appeared in 1951. The car retains the 911 Turbo S’s performance figures, delivering about 710 hp and accelerating to 100 km/h in roughly 2.4–2.5 seconds.
