Porsche unveils one-of-a-kind Flachbau RS at Monterey Car Week

Porsche has unveiled the Flachbau RS, a unique, one-of-a-kind vehicle developed through its Sonderwunsch special request program. Unveiled at Monterey Car Week, the model is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ racing car, featuring a distinctive slant-nose design.

Based on a 2018 911 GT2 RS with the Weissach Package, the Flachbau RS underwent three years of development. It features a redesigned front fender, a three-tier LED headlight unit, and a large rear wing inspired by the 911 GT3 R Rennsport. The vehicle achieved a weight reduction of 31.6 kg compared to the base model and underwent extensive testing, including 50 laps at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

In addition to the one-off model, Porsche showcased a new 911 Carrera S with a six-speed manual transmission specifically for the North American market. The company also presented several special vehicles created in collaboration with Disney and Pixar, including models themed after characters from ‘Cars’ and ‘Toy Story 5’, intended to support charitable causes such as the American Red Cross.
