Porsche unveils one-off 911 GT2 Flachbau RS
Porsche has unveiled the 911 GT2 ‘Flachbau RS’, a unique one-off vehicle developed over three years through the company’s Sonderwunsch customization program. Commissioned by a collector, the road-legal car is based on a 2018 911 GT2 RS equipped with the Weissach Package.
The design serves as a tribute to the iconic ‘Moby Dick’ 935/78 race car, specifically reviving the ‘slantnose’ aesthetic. Key modifications include a completely redesigned front end with flatter fenders, specialized air extraction vents above the wheel arches, and slimline LED headlights. The vehicle features a ‘Grand Prix White’ paint job with matte black and exposed carbon fiber accents, including a U-shaped graphic inspired by the Martini livery of the original race car.
Beyond aesthetics, the project involved collaboration between Porsche’s design and motorsport teams and tuner Manthey. The Flachbau RS incorporates an aerodynamic package featuring a front splitter and rear diffuser. Through radical engineering, Porsche managed to make this one-off model approximately 32 kg lighter than a standard GT2 RS with the Weissach Package.
