The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is marking World Maritime Day 2026 with the theme ‘From policy to practice: driving maritime excellence’, emphasizing the need to convert international regulations into concrete actions for safety, sustainability, and worker protection.

In Nicaragua, the Empresa Portuaria Nacional reported significant port activity between September 14 and 20, 2026, involving 13 international vessels.
