Port Angeles to host Big Hurt and Little Hurt adventure races
Peninsula Adventure Sports is hosting two upcoming athletic events in Port Angeles this weekend: the Big Hurt on Saturday and the Little Hurt on Sunday.
The Big Hurt is a multi-discipline competition featuring a 16-mile mountain bike leg, a 2.6-mile kayak leg at Pebble Beach, a 30-mile road cycling leg to Freshwater Bay Park, and a 10-kilometer run along the North Olympic Discovery trail. Participants can compete in individual iron divisions or in teams of two to four. Registration fees include $105 for iron divisions, $85 per person for teams, and $45 for high school teams.
The Little Hurt, held at Peninsula College in partnership with the Port of Port Angeles, is designed for children from preschool through eighth grade. The event includes cycling and running legs on the college campus, with older children also participating in a rowing machine leg. Registration costs are $5 for children aged 3 to 5 and $15 for students in first through eighth grade.
