Port Autonome de Dakar unveils transformation roadmap

The Port Autonome de Dakar (PAD) is embarking on a major structural transformation to strengthen its role in Senegal’s national logistics and blue economy. During a recent visit by the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Amy Mara Dièye, the new Director General, Doune Pathé Mbengue, outlined a strategic roadmap focused on infrastructure modernization, digitalization, and improved performance to enhance the port's position as a regional maritime platform.

In 2025, the port reported significant economic activity, processing 29.66 million tonnes of goods, consisting of 20.03 million tonnes of imports and 9.63 million tonnes of exports. The infrastructure generated a turnover of 85.630 billion FCFA, with an operating result of 21.587 billion FCFA. The new leadership aims to leverage the port's strategic geographic location to better support the state's economic development goals.
