Port Canaveral and Guam Port Authority Receive Credit Rating Boosts
Fitch Ratings upgraded the Canaveral Port Authority’s revenue bonds to “A+” with a stable outlook, citing strong operational performance, long‑term minimum annual guarantees with cruise and cargo partners, a conservative debt structure and a $1 billion five‑year capital improvement program. Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John W. Murray said the upgrade reflects disciplined financial management and the port’s strategic location near Central Florida’s tourism market.
Moody’s Investors Service reaffirmed the Port Authority of Guam’s senior lien revenue bond rating at Baa2 with a stable outlook for the sixth consecutive year. The agency highlighted the port’s low debt burden, strong liquidity, essential role handling over 90 % of Guam’s imports, and prudent governance. Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Port Authority General Manager Rory J. Respicio praised the reaffirmation as evidence of disciplined leadership and the port’s importance to regional supply‑chain resilience and U.S. security interests in the Indo‑Pacific.
