Gabon implements economic reforms and addresses fuel shortages
Gabon is implementing several strategic economic measures. The Council of Ministers has approved the creation of a national commission to audit and potentially renegotiate economic conventions with partners to ensure the state maximizes benefits from its natural resources.
In Port-Gentil, tax authorities have completed a census of 13,709 economic operators. This operation aimed to identify informal sector actors and regularize the tax status of existing taxpayers while promoting the e-Tax digital platform.
To address recent fuel supply difficulties, an 8,000-ton shipment of gasoline has arrived at the port of Owendo. The Ministry of Petroleum and Gas has instructed distributors in the Greater Libreville area to operate service stations 24 hours a day until supply levels return to normal.
