Port Harcourt hotel shut down following suspicious death

Police have shut down a hotel in Eagle Island Estate, Port Harcourt, following the suspicious death of a young man identified only as Charles. The incident occurred on a Thursday morning, leading to a confrontation between the hotel management and the deceased’s family.

While hotel management claimed the man fell from a two-storey balcony at the rear of the building, the family has disputed this account. The deceased’s brother, Obomate, stated that the scene showed signs of a struggle and blood, rather than a simple fall. He further noted that a doctor informed the family that the man appeared to have sustained a deep stab wound to his stomach and potential trauma to his neck.

Family members and friends stormed the facility demanding access to CCTV footage to clarify the circumstances of the death. Operatives from the Azikiwe Police Division intervened to restore order after a distress call was made during the ensuing chaos.
