Port Harcourt to host 2026 NPBL playoffs

Port Harcourt has been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. Following a schedule adjustment by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) League Management Committee, the Phase Three playoffs will now take place from August 29 to September 6 at the Basketball Stadium in Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State.

The eight-team round-robin tournament includes four qualifiers from the Atlantic Conference—Rivers Hoopers, Maktown Flyers, Hoops & Read, and Lagos Raptors—and four representatives from the Savannah Conference: Aso Sky Hawks, 313 Warriors, Gboko City Chiefs, and Kano Pillars.

Under the revised timeline, teams are scheduled to arrive on August 29 for technical meetings, with competitive games running from August 30 through September 5. NBBF Vice-President Babatunde Ogunade and Secretary-General Amina Amanchi commended the participating teams for their performance during the earlier stages of the season.
