Port infrastructure developments in Peru and Brazil
In Peru, Senace has approved the Third Sustentatory Technical Report (ITS-3) for the San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal project. Presented by Terminal Portuario Jinzhao Perú S.A., the US$ 6 million investment includes the addition of conveyor belts, a transfer tower, entry control booths, and a retaining wall. The project also involves removing an electrical substation and modifying the concrete dike occupation area.
In Brazil, construction of Pier 98 at the Port of Itaqui is entering its final phase. The new infrastructure, measuring 380 meters long and 40 meters wide, is designed to increase the port's annual handling capacity by over 8 million tons, primarily focusing on solid bulk cargo. Additionally, a tender is underway to lease the IQI16 area, a 21,700-square-meter terminal intended to support the growing demand for fertilizers in the agribusiness sector.
