Port infrastructure expansions underway in Argentina and Spain

OTAMERICA is advancing the expansion of the Puerto Rosales pier through its Rosa Negra Project. The company has received loading arms manufactured by the Dutch firm KANON, which will be installed at a new third operational position. These arms stand 27 meters high, weigh approximately 38 tons each, and possess a maximum transfer capacity of 4,000 cubic meters per hour. The equipment was transported from the Port of Zárate to Punta Alta by truck and will be moved to the platform via pontoons for installation.

In Spain, the Melilla Port Authority is investing over 169,000 euros to reinforce the mooring capacity of the Muelle Nordeste III. The project involves installing five new 200-ton bollards to accommodate larger vessels and those with high wind exposure. This upgrade aims to improve operational safety and commercial exploitation by allowing the infrastructure to better absorb the stresses generated by larger ships.
