Port of Algeciras companies attend SMM Hamburg trade fair

Approximately twenty companies from the Algeciras port community are participating in the SMM Hamburg trade fair in Germany. The delegation aims to showcase the diverse ship services offered by the Strait of Gibraltar region, including maritime law, naval repairs, bunkering, and crew changes.

A central focus of the participation is the Port of Algeciras's position as a ‘green energy hub’. Following its performance in 2025, the port has established itself among the top three in Europe for supplying low-carbon transition fuels, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable-origin liquefied biomethane.

The SMM Hamburg event serves as a global platform for maritime innovation, with this edition emphasizing maritime transport decarbonization, supply chain resilience, and maritime security and defense.
