Port of Ancona seeks revitalization through Chinese trade deals

The Port of Ancona is seeking to revitalize its maritime traffic through new international agreements and structural improvements. Giacomo Bugaro, the regional councilor for Port and Economic Development, has announced that the Chery automotive group will begin landing vehicles at the port. Additionally, an agreement has been reached with a silk producer to boost commercial activity.

To support these new trade flows, officials are emphasizing the need for structural interventions, specifically the construction of a large peninsula. This expansion is considered crucial to provide sufficient space and allow larger vessels to dock, addressing long-standing stagnation caused by a lack of strategic vision and insufficient infrastructure.
