Port of Ancona to host sustainable ferry terminal project

Morandi Group and Superfast have announced a major sustainable development project for the Port of Ancona, aimed at fostering a ‘blue economy’. The initiative, which won the 2026 Azimut (Finance and Territory) award, focuses on creating a modern ferry terminal at Molo Sud, specifically on berths 19, 20, and 21.

The project includes the electrification of new docks and the introduction of a new fleet of next-generation ships for connections between Ancona and Greece. These vessels will utilize advanced maritime technology, including hybrid propulsion systems, to reduce emissions and pollution. According to Andrea Morandi, the investment is intended to drive economic, environmental, and touristic growth in the Adriatic region while improving the city's quality of life and connectivity.
