Port of Annaba exports 26,000 tonnes of cement to the US
The Port of Annaba has completed the shipment of 26,000 tonnes of Algerian cement to the United States. The cargo, which was packaged in ‘Big Bags’, was loaded onto the Matilda GS, a vessel flying the Marshall Islands flag, on behalf of the economic operator Biskria Cement.
This operation is part of a broader strategic effort to boost Algeria's non-hydrocarbon exports and expand the international presence of Algerian products. The port authority coordinated material, human, and organizational resources to ensure the shipment met export requirements and maintained operational fluidity.
In conjunction with this shipment, the port has also launched extension works covering 1.82 hectares. This expansion is intended to increase storage and reception capacities, while also creating space for vehicle import processing.
