Port of Cabedelo receives R$ 71 million investment for expansion

Governor Lucas Ribeiro and Minister of Ports and Airports Tomé Franca have signed an amendment of R$ 6.7 million to expand the operational capacity of the Port of Cabedelo. This addition brings the total investment for dredging and rock removal in the access channel and evolution basin to R$ 71 million.

The project includes R$ 44.4 million in federal funds and R$ 26.7 million from the Government of Paraíba. The works will increase the diameter of the evolution basin from 330 to 450 meters, allowing the port to accommodate vessels up to 330 meters in length, including large cruise ships.

Officials stated that the modernization is intended to boost regional tourism and increase the port's competitiveness in handling cargo and commercial routes, serving as an economic driver for the state of Paraíba.
