Radu Miruță announces USR resignations and new port regulations
Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Transport and Defense, has announced several significant political and infrastructural developments in Romania. Regarding the upcoming formation of the Niculescu Government, Miruță stated that the USR party will withdraw its representatives from government positions following the investiture session on Tuesday. He criticized the decision of the PNL to support the new government, labeling the proposed cabinet a ‘government of shame’ and questioning the legality and morality of several proposed ministers.
In terms of infrastructure and logistics, Miruță has signed funding for the first lot of the Târgu Jiu-Craiova expressway, aiming to unblock a long-delayed project. Additionally, he has introduced new regulations for freight train access to the Port of Constanța. The new rules, currently in the decision-making transparency stage, aim to eliminate scheduling irregularities by penalizing operators who attempt to prioritize unscheduled trains over those already in the queue. The project includes the introduction of a digital application to streamline entry permits and prevent railway congestion.
