Port of Fano launches €300,000 safety and service upgrades

The municipality of Fano has begun a €300,000 programme to improve safety, functionality and accessibility at the Port of Fano. Works cover the electrical and fire‑fighting systems, lighting, quay pavement for fish landings, the bike path and the nautical horn. Six new parking spaces will be added to ease access to the local fish‑market stalls.

Mayor Luca Serfilippi said the port is returning to the centre of the city’s investment plan, while Public Works assessor Gianluca Ilari highlighted cooperation with the Port Authority and the aim of preparing a transparent tender for a new concession after the previous operator’s bankruptcy. The municipal administration also thanked curator Gaia Cesaroni for her support. Parallel waterfront projects continue, with a new entrance to the Lisippo promenade slated for September 2026.
