Port of Klaipeda advances new cruise terminal construction

Construction is progressing on a new cruise terminal at the Port of Klaipeda in Lithuania, located at a former Soviet naval repair shipyard. The project, which has some works ahead of schedule, has already completed the reconstruction of its first two piers.

The terminal will feature two docks measuring 369 meters and 222 meters in length, capable of hosting multiple cruises simultaneously. Facilities will include shore power supply and dedicated areas for passengers and buses.

As part of a larger waterfront redevelopment, the USD 55 million project aims to integrate the port with the city. Beyond maritime infrastructure, the site will include an outdoor amphitheater overlooking the Curonian Lagoon, event spaces, leisure areas, pedestrian walkways, bike lanes, and a marina for yachts and recreational vessels. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
