Port of Rawson implements facial recognition access controls

The Chubut government, through the Secretariat of Fisheries, has begun the gradual implementation of a new access control system at the Port of Rawson. The upgrade utilizes facial recognition technology to strengthen security and optimize entry mechanisms.

In addition to facial recognition, the port has installed cameras for automatic license plate recognition. This system is designed to identify vehicles and verify documentation, permits, and authorizations. Diego Brandán, the Secretary of Fisheries for Chubut, stated that the digital tools represent an advancement in security and management, allowing for more efficient and orderly processes tailored to current port activities.

The implementation will be carried out progressively across various areas and access points of the port to ensure proper adaptation to the new system.
