Portugal fuel prices expected to diverge as diesel rises and gasoline falls

Fuel prices in Portugal are expected to diverge next week, with diesel projected to rise by 4.5 cents per liter to an average of 2.149 euros, while gasoline is estimated to decrease by 1.5 cents to 2.115 euros. These fluctuations are influenced by international market closures and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, specifically regarding the Strait of Hormuz and conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

In a separate development, Pedro do Ó Ramos, President of the Administration of the Ports of Sines and the Algarve (APS), is advocating for the creation of a free zone in Sines. Speaking at the APLOG Logistics Congress, he argued that such a measure is essential to attract logistics companies, boost import and export flows, and enhance the competitiveness of the Port of Sines against Spanish ports. This proposal coincides with the upcoming autonomy of the Sines Customs in January 2027.
