Port Polska and Správa železnic sign rail cooperation agreement
Port Polska and the Czech railway infrastructure manager, Správa železnic, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop railway connections between Poland and the Czech Republic. The agreement was signed during the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin.
A primary focus of the cooperation is the development of a high-speed rail connection between Katowice and Ostrava. The two entities intend to jointly seek European Union funding, specifically through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program, to realize this cross-border link.
Beyond the Katowice-Ostrava route, the partnership includes the exchange of technical expertise, railway management, and transport organization. The parties also indicated interest in future discussions regarding a potential high-speed connection between Wrocław and Prague.
