Port Said launches major housing and infrastructure upgrades in three neighborhoods
Governor Ibrahim Abu Limon of Port Said, accompanied by Engineer Wael Mustafa of the Sinai Reconstruction Authority, conducted a field inspection of the Zahur district and announced the start of comprehensive development works in three new residential areas. The plan includes a 270 million EGP project to upgrade 168 apartment blocks, delivering 3,984 housing units for roughly 16,000 residents, with improvements to roads, sidewalks, sewage networks, street lighting, landscaping and drainage.
A separate 111‑building housing scheme on a 21‑feddan site near the Emirati district will add 2,594 apartments, 20 administrative units and 150 commercial shops. The governor emphasized adherence to tight schedules, high quality standards and increased labor to ensure the projects are completed on time, aiming to transform the neighborhoods into integrated urban communities and raise living standards for citizens.
