Port Said officials discuss disability inclusion and services

Dr. Eman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, and Port Said Governor Ibrahim Ahmed Abu Limon met to discuss improving services and addressing challenges for people with disabilities in the governorate.

During their visit, they inspected the Saqr Electrical Tools Factory in the Port Said industrial zone, which serves as a model for integrating employees with hearing impairments into the workforce. The factory produces electrical connections, LED strips, safety systems, and LED bulbs. Dr. Karim emphasized the importance of economic empowerment through vocational training and creating inclusive work environments that utilize sign language.

The officials also discussed administrative hurdles, specifically focusing on the issuance of integrated services cards. Dr. Karim noted that the Council is coordinating with the Ministries of Health and Social Solidarity to accelerate the issuance of these cards, increase the number of medical committees, and expedite the resolution of grievances to ensure citizens receive their rights promptly.
