Port Said to host 59th Companies Union Championship in 2026
The General Union of Sports for Companies has announced the schedule for the 59th Companies Union Championship, set to take place in 2026. The event will feature a wide array of sporting, cultural, and artistic activities across several Egyptian governorates.
Port Said will serve as the primary host, with the opening ceremony scheduled for August 30, 2026, and the closing ceremony on September 14, 2026. The tournament is divided into two main phases. During the first phase (August 29 to September 5), Port Said will host competitions including swimming, water polo, volleyball, handball, boxing, karate, wrestling, weightlifting, and judo. Ismailia will host long-distance swimming and football, while Suez will host French billiards and snooker.
The second phase (September 7 to September 14) will see Port Said hosting futsal, basketball, tennis, table tennis, squash, chess, cycling, bodybuilding, and padel, alongside musical and fine arts competitions. Ismailia will host shooting, hockey, and rowing, while Alexandria will host athletics starting September 7. The program also includes special competitions for people with disabilities and theatrical arts in Port Said.
