Port sectors in Panama and Brazil enhance training and emergency protocols

In Panama, the National Institute for Vocational Training for Human Development (INADEH) has completed a training program for 22 young people in stevedoring and cargo verification at port terminals. This initiative, a partnership with PSA Panamá, involved 140 hours of technical training and soft skills development to prepare participants for the logistics and port sectors.

In Brazil, the Bahia State Port Company (Codeba) concluded a series of emergency response drills across the ports of Salvador, Aratu-Candeias, and Ilhéus. The training cycle included simulations for oil spill containment, maritime accident rescue, and wildlife rescue. The program involved various stakeholders, including the Brazilian Navy and the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), to improve emergency protocols and response integration.
