PORTA frozen Italian pizza brand expands US retail presence with nationwide Target launch
PORTA, the frozen Italian pizza label founded by restaurateur Cosimo Mammoliti, has begun selling its Roman‑style pizzas in Target stores across the United States and on Target.com. The rollout brings the brand to roughly 4,500 retail doors in North America.
Four varieties – Pepperoni, Margherita, Mushroom & Fontina, and Sweet & Spicy Soppressata – are offered at a suggested price of $11.99 each. Each pizza is made with 100 % Italian flour from Le Marche, vine‑ripened tomatoes from Campania, extra‑virgin olive oil from Puglia and contains no dough conditioners, preservatives or artificial additives. The dough undergoes a 24‑hour slow fermentation before being hand‑stretched, topped and flash‑frozen.
Mammoliti said the goal is to bring the care and craftsmanship of his restaurant‑style pizza to home kitchens, while Target’s food‑category lead Abby Haines noted the launch raises expectations for quality in the frozen‑food aisle.
