Portable power station manufacturers focus on daily use and disaster readiness

Manufacturers are increasingly designing portable power stations to bridge the gap between daily lifestyle use and emergency disaster preparedness.

JVC Kenwood has introduced the BN-RL410, a portable power station featuring a unique ecosystem called ‘U4 SMART LINK’. Developed in collaboration with LERA, this system allows users to utilize detachable BH-U4 mobile batteries across various devices, including stick vacuum cleaners, high-pressure washers, and camping lanterns. The BN-RL410 utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, which offer high thermal stability and a long lifespan of approximately 4,000 charge cycles.

Similarly, Jackery is promoting a ‘phase-free’ approach with its latest models, such as the Jackery Portable Power Station 1500 New. By offering aesthetic options like pearl white, the company aims to make these units suitable for home interiors rather than just storage. These units utilize LiFePO4 technology for a lifespan of about 10 years. The strategy encourages users to integrate power stations into daily life—using them for laptops, projectors, or as charging stations—to ensure they remain charged and ready for sudden power outages caused by natural disasters.
