PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park closes pools due to waste

Several pools at PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park were temporarily closed on Tuesday afternoon following the detection of human waste in the water. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM, affecting both adult and children's swimming areas.

Lifeguards evacuated the affected pools immediately upon discovery. While social media reports and eyewitnesses speculated whether the incident was related to the viral ‘brown challenge’ or an accident involving a child, the park focused on its response.

Management stated that they strictly follow sanitary protocols established by current regulations and the Agència de Salut Pública de Catalunya (ASPCAT). According to the resort, in cases of visible organic waste such as feces or vomit, pools are closed immediately until the situation is normalized through the application of required health protocols.

Reports indicate that the situation had normalized by Wednesday, with all pools reopened.
