Port‑Cartier’s DÉrive Festival draws record 4,500 visitors
The third edition of the DÉrive festival was held on July 25 on Île McCormick in Port‑Cartier, Quebec. About 2,000 people attended daytime family activities while a further 2,500 entered the evening concerts, bringing the total to a record‑high roughly 4,500 attendees.
City cultural manager Nadia Bernier praised the event as a “great success,” noting the excellent weather, local food offerings and a program that featured Cirque Kikasse, the open‑country show by Mountain Daisies with artists such as Isabelle Boulay, Yoan Garneau and Ariane Ouellet, and a closing performance by Guillaume Lafond with harmonicist Shawn McPherson. The festival was organized by the Ville de Port‑Cartier in partnership with ArcelorMittal and other local sponsors.
