Portland announces September 25 as Dolly Parton Day
Portland City Council President Jamie Dunphy has announced that the City of Portland will officially recognize September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day via a Mayoral Proclamation. The designation honors the singer's musical legacy, generosity, and cultural impact.
A pre-gavel ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., featuring a musical performance by Nicole Onoscopi and a presentation by Laurie McNichols from the Imagination Library. The date, 9/25, was chosen to coincide with the numerical representation of the month and day.
In Washington, promotional signage for the National Dolly Parton Day event has been observed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
