Portland arts organizations announce new community initiatives
Portland, Oregon, is seeing new developments in its local arts scene. The Portland Museum of Art is scheduled to open the AMP outdoor pavilion at 142 Free St. on October 2. Designed by Lever Architecture, the 4,200-square-foot temporary space will serve as a testing ground for future events such as films, workshops, and performances while the museum prepares for a new wing construction. The pavilion will feature seating, free Wi-Fi, and a mural by local artist Jenna Pirello.
Additionally, the Multnomah Arts Center (MAC) will host an “Arts for All” community open house on Friday, October 16, 2026. This free event, held in conjunction with the ADX Fest, offers approximately 15 hands-on activities including ceramics, woodworking, and printmaking. The open house aims to showcase the center's diverse programs and foster community engagement through interactive art experiences.
