Portland Bureau of Transportation implements safety updates on SE 82nd and SE 92nd Avenues
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is conducting several infrastructure and safety projects across major corridors in East Portland.
On SE 92nd Avenue, crews are installing speed cushions between SE Yamhill and SE Clay Street, as well as at SE Steele Street. Part of the Safe Routes to School Program, these cushions feature three channels designed to allow emergency vehicle passage while encouraging motorists to reduce speeds near Berrydale Park and Clark Elementary School.
Simultaneously, the 82nd Avenue Transit and Safety Project is undergoing active construction. Recent work included the installation of curb ramps and green striping to assist bicyclists. Upcoming work scheduled for late October includes signal interconnect work, concrete median island construction, and electrical restoration. These activities are expected to cause lane closures and delays, particularly between SE Powell and SE Rhone.
