Portland Parks & Recreation launches Washington Park Summer Festival
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) announced the return of the Washington Park Summer Festival, a two‑day free concert series on August 8‑9 at the International Rose Garden Amphitheater. The Saturday show features the Time Sound Big Band, presented by the Albina Music Trust, highlighting Portland’s Black music heritage, while Sunday’s program showcases soul artist Ural Thomas and the Pain.
The event is supported by the 2025 Parks Local Option Levy and includes free, ADA‑accessible shuttle service that links major park attractions. PP&R also continues its Free Lunch + Play program, offering free meals and activities for children and families during school‑free weeks, aimed at closing the summertime meal gap for the city’s youth.
