Portland Police Investigate Recent Shootings, One Suspect Arrested

On July 31, 2026, detectives with the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Homicide Unit responded to a fatal shooting in the 9200 block of Southeast Clinton Street. The Oregon State Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide by gunfire. PPB officers located and arrested Jacob Ryan Clement, 45, of Portland on August 1 and booked him on a charge of second‑degree murder.

A separate incident occurred early on August 2, 2026, when a shooting on Northeast Alberta Street injured six people. The victims were taken to local hospitals, and the scene was secured with road closures on Northeast 57th Avenue and surrounding blocks. Detectives continue to search for the suspect(s), who fled before police arrived. Both investigations are being handled by the PPB Homicide Unit, and authorities are urging anyone with information to submit tips.
