Portland roadwork causes traffic and transit detours
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) has issued traffic advisories regarding the SE Division Street Repaving Project. The project involves replacing uneven and cracked pavement with new asphalt and reconstructing the intersection of SE Division and 50th Avenue, which includes the removal of historic trolley tracks.
As part of the construction, the intersection at SE 50th Avenue and Division Street is closed to through traffic. TriMet's bus line 14 is currently detouring via SE 52nd Avenue between SE Hawthorne and SE Foster. Additionally, traffic diverters on the SE Lincoln Street greenway have been moved to accommodate transit detours.
Traffic on SE 50th Avenue will face directional closures through September 4. Southbound traffic will be closed a block north of SE Division Street through August 28, while northbound traffic will face closures one block south of SE Division Street from August 31 through September 4. Travelers are advised to use SE Cesar E Chavez Boulevard as an alternate route.
