Portland Thorns defeat Denver Summit 1-0 in NWSL action

In National Women’s Soccer League action, the Portland Thorns defeated the Denver Summit 1-0. Sophia Wilson scored the decisive goal in the 44th minute following an assist from Jessie Fleming, marking her 10th goal of the season. Goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold recorded her eighth clean sheet of the year with three saves.

Elsewhere, the North Carolina Courage secured a 2-1 victory over the Boston Legacy. Ashley Sanchez scored twice, including a stoppage-time penalty kick in the 107th minute to seal the win. The Kansas City Current and the Seattle Reign played to a 1-1 draw, with Debinha scoring a penalty for the Current.
