PortMiami hits record 10 million cruise passengers
PortMiami has achieved a historic milestone by surpassing 10 million cruise passengers during the 2026 fiscal year. The 10 millionth passenger arrived on September 14, well ahead of the fiscal year's end on September 30. This achievement represents a growth of over 16% compared to the previous record of approximately 8.56 million passengers.
Port Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels attributed the record-breaking volume to infrastructure modernization, increased cruise line capacity, and improved operational efficiency at the docks to accommodate larger vessels. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava noted that the milestone reinforces the port's role as a global gateway and a significant economic driver for the region through job creation and local commercial activity.
