Porto Alegre blocks Mariante Street for water pipe repairs

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, the municipal Department of Water and Sewage (Dmae) will close Mariante Street at number 370 in Porto Alegre for a water‑supply network repair. The blockage, starting at 9 a.m., will halt all traffic, with detours routed through Castro Alves Street and Goethe Avenue. The work may cause temporary low water pressure or outages in the surrounding area, and the department will post any service changes on its official X account.

The excavation is expected to finish by night, with normal water supply restored during the early hours of Monday. Municipal traffic agents will be on site to guide drivers and ensure safety. Motorists are advised to plan trips in advance and use the suggested alternative routes.
