Porto Alegre offers free vocational courses for transgender individuals

The “TransFormando Vidas no Mundo do Trabalho” project is offering 40 free vocational training spots for transgender individuals in Porto Alegre. The initiative aims to facilitate labor market integration for those in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability.

Two specific courses are available: “Petiscos e comidas de boteco: preparo e apresentação,” running from September 21 to 25, and “Atendimento e Hospitalidade para Bares e Restaurantes,” held from September 28 to October 2. Each course offers 20 vacancies and consists of 40 hours of instruction.

Classes will be taught by Senac/RS instructors at Unisenac in the city's Historic Center. Participants will receive didactic materials and two transportation vouchers per day of class. Those who maintain at least 75% attendance are eligible for a workshop on resume building and interview preparation organized by the TRT-RS. The program is a partnership between the Gender, Race, and Diversity Equity Management Committee of the TRT-RS and Senac/RS, funded by the Superior Labor Court (TST).
