Brazilian municipalities advance 2027 budget planning
Various Brazilian municipalities are undergoing the legislative process for their 2027 Annual Budget Laws (LOA) and Budgetary Guidelines Laws (LDO).
In São Caetano, the City Council approved the 2027 LDO in its first vote, projecting a revenue of R$ 2.81 billion. The proposal prioritizes Education, Health, and Security. In São Paulo, Mayor Ricardo Nunes has proposed a budget that allocates R$ 2.37 billion specifically for climate resilience and flood prevention measures.
Other cities are conducting public hearings to ensure civic participation. Marataízes has already presented its 2027 proposal to the City Council, while Limeira has scheduled a public hearing for October 15. Rondonópolis is beginning a cycle of three hearings to discuss its LDO and LOA. In Belo Horizonte, upcoming hearings will address critical sectors including housing, urban mobility, security, and health.
