Porto Alegre taxpayers can receive up to 11% IPTU discount

Taxpayers in Porto Alegre have until November 30 to accumulate service invoices to secure discounts on the 2027 Property Tax (IPTU). Through the “CPF na Nota” program, individual property owners can obtain an additional discount of up to 3% based on the number of service invoices issued with their tax ID.

The discount tiers are as follows: 1% for 7 to 12 invoices, 2% for 13 to 24 invoices, and 3% for more than 24 invoices. Valid services include gyms, beauty salons, medical and dental clinics, schools, mechanical workshops, hotels, and professional services such as law, accounting, engineering, and architecture.

These savings can be combined with other municipal incentives. Property owners with up to date taxes can receive a 3% “good payer” discount, and those opting for a single upfront payment can receive an additional 5% discount. When combined, the total reduction for the 2027 IPTU can reach 11%.
