Porto Alegre to Host 40,000-Participant Legal Conference Cidade da Advocacia 2026

From August 4 to 8, 2026, Porto Alegre will host the fifth edition of Cidade da Advocacia, a five‑day legal conference organized by the Rio Grande do Sul section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/RS). The event will take place at the Cais Embarcadero and is expected to attract around 40,000 participants, a rise from the 28,000 who attended in 2025.

The program will feature more than 15 simultaneous stages and roughly 250 panels covering topics such as artificial intelligence, digital law, innovation, entrepreneurship, career management and the social impacts on legal practice. Confirmed speakers include philosopher Luiz Felipe Pondé, jurist José Roberto de Castro Neves, professor Pablo Stolze, tax specialist Paulo Duarte Filho, former Justice Minister Miguel Reale Júnior, emerging‑tech expert Monica Magalhães and criminal lawyers Jader Marques and Aury Lopes Júnior. The conference will also host the XI State Advocacy Conference and provide services through the Caixa de Assistência dos Advogados do Rio Grande do Sul (CAARS), with Banrisul serving as the master sponsor.
